The United Labour Party of South Sudan condemns in the strongest terms the recent border conflict that claimed the lives of our SSPDF personnel and innocent civilians. This is not a minor incident—it is a direct attack on South Sudanese lives and dignity.
We note that Uganda has dispatched delegates to Juba to address the matter. Yet, our question remains unanswered: Why has the Government of South Sudan not summoned the Ugandan Ambassador to account for this aggression? Why do we wait for Uganda to dictate the pace and shape of the response, as if we are the junior partner in our own land?
Our sovereignty is not negotiable.
Our people are not expendable.
Our borders are not open hunting grounds.
While we acknowledge Uganda’s assistance during our recent crisis, friendship does not grant license to spill South Sudanese blood without consequence. Brotherhood is meaningless if it is paid for with the lives of our people and the erosion of our national integrity.
We demand:
• Immediate summoning of the Ugandan Ambassador to answer for this incident.
• A clear, public statement from our government affirming our sovereignty and condemning the killings.
• Full accountability and justice for every life lost.
The people of South Sudan will not forget. We will not remain silent. And we will not tolerate any compromise on our dignity as a nation.
