The United Labour Party of South Sudan (ULPOSS) is a social-democratic political movement committed to building a just, inclusive, and prosperous nation. Rooted in the values of labour solidarity, equity, digital transformation, and accountable governance, ULPOSS stands as the voice of workers, youth, and marginalised citizens across all regions of South Sudan.
ULPOSS emerged from the former Labour Party of South Sudan, rebranded to symbolise unity, transformation, and innovation. The party recognises that the nation’s strength lies in the productivity of its people and the integrity of its leadership. Through this unity, ULPOSS strives to replace corruption and division with transparency, opportunity, and hope.

ULPOSS CHAIRMAN
Ernest Onen Aliardo Ogwaro was born in 1984 to Mr Aliardo Ogwaro and Mrs Julia Ogwaro in the Torit Eastern Equatorial of South Sudan.
He attended Salama self-help basic education and later joined Kinnetti’s secondary school for secondary education.
He sat for his Sudan school certificate at Aliab secondary school. While in secondary school he was an active member of the debate club and Young Christian Students Association (YCSA) and he served as secretary of information for Khartoum diocese something that boosted his confidence and equipped him with leadership skills and teamwork making him the leader he is today. Being a part of the school debate club also equipped him with a broadened network and learning experiences that became lessons to carry on in life and into his leadership path.
He was part of the music and drama club where as a student he participated in school plays that were educational and spoke about the history of the country and this opened doors for politics in his life. At an early age, he became more inquisitive about the politics of Sudan and loved his nation even more. The need to better the nation became his drive as a young teenager aspiring to become a leader someday. He was inspired by great African leaders like Nelson Mandela of South Africa, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, and John Garang of Sudan among others.
After high school, he attended military national service in an engineering brigade.
In military national service, he was an outspoken person he organized a team of Christian students and challenged the military camp administration to allow them to attend church on Sunday out of camp and return later after service.
He advocated for the rights of Christians while in the camp not to wake up early and go watch their Muslim colleagues pray.
He had learned the spirit of nationalism according to military norms, protection of human rights, and respect of non-military groups during war, military discipline and doctrines while in the camps and challenged the system according to the military doctrines of the Sudan.
All his life, he has advocated for a better South Sudan and believes that with peace, everyone will be free. After the passing of John Garang, all hope was lost.
In 2005, he left Sudan for Egypt where he joined Helwan University and graduated with a diploma in computer science in 2008.
While in Egypt he was an active member of the South Sudanese community which encouraged voters to vote for the separation of South Sudan from the Sudan under the Sudan Referendum of 2011.
He joined the Labour Party South Sudan in 2013 and was appointed Secretary of Information where he dedicated himself to the party. However, due to political unrest in the country, the party collapsed. With a few members from the Labour Party South Sudan, they Co-founded a new political movement which was the Labour Party of South Sudan currently known as the United Labour Party of South Sudan.
In 2014, Ernest attained a Diploma in Early childhood education in Australia and upgraded his Diploma in computer science to a Bachelor’s degree in 2021.
He is focused to see a stable, peaceful, prosperous South Sudan with a safe political environment, job opportunities for the youth, advanced and improved social services like education, health and transport services and return of South Sudanese in refugee camps back home.
His leadership skills and experience in the field of politics have been greatly improved and enhanced by his ability to work harmoniously with other people and his willingness to engage with others and learn from them.
