Reclaiming Our Future: A Call for Peace, Unity, and Democratic Leadership in South Sudan

·

Before the war, life in our communities was peaceful and rooted in simplicity. People lived in harmony with the seasons—raising cattle, farming, and supporting their families with dignity. There was contentment in our way of life and a strong sense of belonging in our villages. But war changed everything. It tore apart our homes and our peace, forcing many to flee and abandon the lives they had built.

War pushes people into survival mode—becoming refugees in foreign lands, reduced to working as housekeepers, washing clothes, begging on the streets, or losing the will to work. It has orphaned our children, stolen our future, and left our communities broken. Everything we once knew has been turned upside down.

This suffering must end.
We cannot continue living in fear, poverty, and displacement. We want to return to our normal lives, reclaim our dignity, and rebuild our country on the foundations of peace and justice.

The United Labour Party of South Sudan has laid out a clear vision in its roadmap to achieve exactly that. We are committed to restoring the dignity of our nation and putting the national interest above all else. At the heart of our principles is the belief in a peaceful transfer of power—something South Sudan has never experienced, and which many African nations have yet to witness.

We say: no more violence, no more power through the barrel of a gun.
We believe in civil leadership, democratic processes, and governance that serves the people—not personal ambition.

My fellow citizens,
This is our moment to stand together. Let us unite behind a shared vision of peace, progress, and national renewal. Join the United Labour Party of South Sudan so we can work together to restore our beloved country.

Together, we can reclaim our future. Together, we can rebuild South Sudan
For God and Our Nation
God bless South Sudan

Ernest Ogwaro.
The Leader of United Labour Party of South Sudan .
